Tour for organic units or junior-intermediate commanders
During the tour, we will explore the controversies that have shaped Israeli society over the years and examine the dilemmas of decision-making and taking a stand in the midst of controversy. The tour combines a discussion of values regarding the limits of discourse, freedom of expression, identity, and national policy, while practicing inclusive discourse between different positions. We will go through controversies in historical stories such as the establishment of the city of Tel Aviv, the declaration of the state, the social-economic protest of 2011, the battle over the Altalena, and the assassination of Rabin.
We will accompany the discussion with command dilemmas from unit life that are relevant to the various controversies and ask how a commander should deal with them. We will conclude the tour with a workshop on "State Command in a Diverse Society" to acquire ethical and professional tools for creating a unifying discourse and deepening the sense of mission.
The route is approximately 2 km long and includes key points such as Kalbo Shalom, Independence Hall, Rothschild Street, Neve Tzedek, the Etzel Museum, and Rabin Square.
