Tour: “A City Bound Together” – Jerusalem

Tour for organic units or junior-intermediate commanders

Tour of Jerusalem

During the tour, we will learn about diverse populations, how disputes have shaped Israeli society over the years, and examine the dilemmas of decision-making and taking a stand in the midst of controversy. The tour incorporates a discussion of values regarding the limits of discourse, freedom of expression, social periphery, religion and state relations, and national identity—while practicing inclusive discourse between different positions.

We will accompany the commanders in discussing command dilemmas from unit life that are relevant to the various controversies and ask how a commander should deal with them. We will conclude the tour with a workshop on "State Command in a Diverse Society" to acquire ethical and professional tools for creating a unifying discourse and deepening the sense of mission.

The route is approximately 4 km long (it is possible to shorten it or change the order of the stops) and includes key points such as IDF Square, Safra Square, Zion Square, Shabbat Square, and Menorah Park.

Through the stories of commanders from the past, we will examine the concept of "Follow me!" – not only as a call to battle, but as a basis for personal example, responsibility, and ethical leadership.

Leadership and Pioneering Then and Now—A Tour of Gilboa and Kfar Tavor in the Footsteps of Inspiring Figures

On Shaul's shoulder, we will tell the story of Gideon and his test for warriors, and discuss the importance of a sense of mission then and now. We will discuss what we consider to be the ideal commander, and examine how we can draw inspiration from prominent commanders and leaders throughout history. We will continue with a visit to the Shutman House in Ein Harod/Hatzrot HaIkarim in Kfar Tavor and discuss leadership and pioneering today.

"The Journey Home" - A tour of Atlit on the theme of Zionism and mission

Through an experiential tour and interactive stations in the reconstructed camp, we will delve into issues such as finding a home, taking responsibility for building it, and choosing to return and immigrate to Israel. By encountering the dilemmas faced by the immigrants and the choices they made, we will expand our understanding of the significance of immigration to Israel and understand our role today in absorbing immigrants to Israel.

Tour of the Carmel in the footsteps of mission and heroism

Visit to the Carmel Fire Disaster Memorial. During the tour, we will trace the actions of the security forces during the event – stories of heroism and courage, and difficult dilemmas in exercising judgment. We will learn about the heroism of those who fell in the disaster and discuss what gives people the strength to choose to serve and protect, even at the cost of their lives. We will visit the Druze Youth Center, the first Druze pre-military academy in Israel.

Visit to the Palmach House and a challenging workshop in Hayarkon Park. During the tour, we will explore the "spirit of the Palmach" and its relevance to the Israel Police today. We will examine the connection between camaraderie and cohesion within the unit and the execution of the mission, and we will conclude with a challenging and team-building workshop that practices the value of camaraderie among the participants and provides tools for strengthening the value of camaraderie among subordinates.
