Against the backdrop of growing anti-democratic tendencies in Israeli society, we believe it is important to strengthen democratic awareness and responsibility among young people. This seminar addresses this issue by presenting current social dilemmas and emphasizing that each of us has a crucial role to play in shaping the reality of our country.
The seminar deals with the fundamental values of democracy and how to deal with disputes and disagreements in a respectful manner, through an introduction to the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin and the period leading up to it, which marked a break in Israeli democracy, and their connection to the social and political reality of today – marking 30 years since the assassination. Participants will gain practical tools for managing disagreement in a democratic society and will come to understand that the existence of democratic lifestyles depends on each and every one of us and is expressed in our daily choices.
