Israeli Assembly

Israeli assembly It is a peak activity that does not hesitate to look reality in the eye, inviting participants to take an active and responsible part in Israeli society, to sit together and discuss a burning issue, to talk, argue, interpret together what the dispute is and what the disagreement is about, and to try to reach a broad consensus at the table. Above all, it creates a space where different and diverse opinions can be accommodated, where it is possible to disagree, argue, talk, express oneself, and listen with respect, recognizing the person sitting next to me and sharing responsibility for our future here.

What makes this type of meeting unique is the willingness to talk to both young people and adults on equal terms.

The course of the discussion in the discourse circle

Part A: Establishing principles for respectful discourse in the discourse circle

Part B: Presentation of the dispute, reliable facts on the subject, joint formulation of the dispute

Part C: Presenting different positions on the controversy and open discussion of them

Part D: Attempting to reach a mutual agreement

  • Core issues to choose from:

(A central topic that will accompany all tables / Each table will deal with a different topic / Two rounds – each table will deal with two topics)

  • Two years of fighting and paying the price for the release of the hostages.
  • Service for all – Should the entire Israeli public serve in the IDF?.
  • Protest and the limits of discourse

In an era of superficial, polarized, and label-saturated public discourse, We strive to foster deep and respectful dialogue—one based on sincere listening, moral courage, and dealing with complexity. The goal is to educate active citizens who have a sense of belonging and a desire to shape Israeli society with responsibility and vision in the spirit of the Declaration of Independence.

  • You can add a meeting with a relevant speaker who will share their worldview with the students and enrich the discussion with an additional perspective.
