We have chosen to open a window onto three alarming phenomena in Israeli society today: social and economic gaps, violence, and racism. The aim of the seminar is to broaden young people's horizons and increase their awareness of what is happening in society.
To begin, we will examine the concept of ‘value’ on a personal and social level, understand which values are central and guiding in our lives, and which values motivate people to act in their lives. Then, we'll open a ‘window’ to a social phenomenon, get to know its dimensions, figure out where we see it in our daily lives, and where our values can come into play in relation to these phenomena.
Let us examine whether we, as young people, have the ability to choose differently, in small, personal decisions, in opposing injustice, in choosing not to stand by in the face of evil, and in narrowing the gap between values and reality.
