Lecture "Rebellion of Hope" to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day and Heroes' Remembrance Day

The lecture "Rebellion of Hope" examines the story of Jewish youth movements during the Holocaust and their extraordinary choice to resist evil despite the reality of despair, hunger, and extermination. By examining the processes that took place, from educational movements to the establishment of underground resistance groups, participants are exposed to moral dilemmas, the power of educational action even under impossible conditions, and the power of youth as a force for change. The lecture emphasizes how the choice to fight for values and hope was a form of rebellion no less significant than armed rebellion.

Through quotes, images, and stories, the lecture provokes thought about the meaning of "rebellion"—not as a momentary outburst, but as a conscious, ethical, and ongoing choice. It invites participants to examine the personal and social responsibility of each of us, and to consider how we can draw inspiration from the past in order to act with hope in the face of present challenges.

On Shaul's shoulder, we will tell the story of Gideon and his test for warriors, and discuss the importance of a sense of mission then and now. We will discuss what we consider to be the ideal commander, and examine how we can draw inspiration from prominent commanders and leaders throughout history. We will continue with a visit to the Shutman House in Ein Harod/Hatzrot HaIkarim in Kfar Tavor and discuss leadership and pioneering today.

"The Journey Home" - A tour of Atlit on the theme of Zionism and mission

Through an experiential tour and interactive stations in the reconstructed camp, we will delve into issues such as finding a home, taking responsibility for building it, and choosing to return and immigrate to Israel. Tour of the Carmel in the footsteps of mission and heroism

Visit to the Carmel Fire Disaster Memorial. During the tour, we will trace the actions of the security forces during the event – stories of heroism and courage, and difficult dilemmas in exercising judgment. We will learn about the heroism of those who fell in the disaster and discuss what gives people the strength to choose to serve and protect, even at the cost of their lives. We will visit the Druze Youth Center, the first Druze pre-military academy in Israel.

Visit to the Palmach House and a challenging workshop in Hayarkon Park. During the tour, we will explore the "spirit of the Palmach" and its relevance to the Israel Police today.
