Peers – Democracy

The change will start with the youth. We have developed a unique approach that trains a leadership group of students to engage with these complex issues with their peers or younger students.

A leadership group will be trained to teach a peer class at school to mark the anniversary of Yitzhak Rabin's assassination, including a discussion on democratic values, ways of dealing with disputes, violence, and disagreement, and the connection between mutual responsibility, solidarity, and personal responsibility to the reality of young people's lives today. (Adapted to the age of the participants).

Through our activities, we will mark 30 years since the despicable murder and ask Israeli society the question: What will ensure a future in which there is room for everyone in a single, yet diverse, social fabric?.

The training day includes a long session on values and practical tools for conducting activities – 4 hours of training.

Students will convey the content in pairs, a 40-minute classroom activity – preferably in half-classes to ensure a successful experience.

Additional ingredients that can be taken:

  • Accompaniment day – An accompaniment day with an inspiring guide can be added to the day on which the students will teach the lessons.

Cost per day of escort: 1,250 NIS
