פעילות המספרת את סיפורם של יהודי אתיופיה במסעם לישראל – ממאות שנות שמירת זהות יהודית באתיופיה, דרך המסע הארוך, המורכב והכואב בדרכם לארץ, ועד לקליטתם במדינת ישראל ולמאבקם לשוויון והכרה.

התלמידים נחשפים לסיפור ההיסטורי-חברתי דרך תמונות, קטעי עדות, מפות, ביוגרפיות ודימויים חזותיים רבי-עוצמה – המזמינים להזדהות, להקשבה וללמידה. הפעילות כוללת הנחיה מלווה, דיון מונחה ושאלות חשיבה המתמקדות בזהות, קהילה, נאמנות לחלום, התמודדות עם משבר, גזענות, ושייכות.

This is a profound educational tool for strengthening the sense of familiarity and partnership within Israeli society, while giving pride of place to the Ethiopian community and its unique story as an integral part of the entire Zionist narrative.

Seminar objectives:

  • Exposure and recognition of the story of the immigration of Ethiopian Jews
  • Strengthening familiarity and identification with different communities in Israeli society
  • Engaging with identity, belonging, and Zionist values of determination, mutual responsibility, and accountability
  • Creating intergenerational and community dialogue around heritage, dreams, and the struggle for equality

A tour of Tel Aviv following the historical vision of the Declaration of Independence, through dilemmas that span from then to now, from history to current events.
