In an era of ongoing crisis, the question of how to continue operating and even grow in situations of stress and difficulty arises frequently. This session delves into the concept of "social resilience" through the socio-ecological model developed by Anouh Raz and Dr. Karmit Rapaport. Participants learn about the four components of resilience—a sense of belonging, a sense of meaning, a sense of control, and a positive narrative—and learn to shape their leadership in ways that strengthen individual and unit resilience. At each stage, participants examine how the components of resilience are expressed at the individual, unit, and Israeli society levels, and how they can incorporate the component they have learned into their leadership work.
The workshop takes the general concept of “resilience” and breaks it down into practical components and tools that every commander can implement in their unit.
