Tomer tells us about the milestones in his life – from being a member of the Working and Learning Youth movement in the Borochov branch, participating in the "Peace Rally" on November 4, 1995, and his personal memories of the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, through the various positions he has held in public service, to his plans for the future.

Among his various roles, he served as senior advisor to Minister of Education Yuli Tamir (2006), headed the "Magen Israel" program headquarters for managing the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, and served as Director General of the Ministry of Public Security (2021).

"After bad years come good years, and there is an engine to drive those good years forward. One of the things I deal with a lot is public service and its quality. Many people like to say that it has eroded over the years, but I don't think that's true. I have seen public service improve over the last few years, and it is now going through a major crisis. But I truly believe that positive energy can revive this enterprise."
