In these challenging times, there is a vital need for police officers to meet and discuss the challenges facing the police in a democratic society, to process their encounters with citizens at a time when society is in a "state of war," and to strengthen their sense of mission.

This workshop provides a platform for dialogue between police officers and command staff on fundamental issues concerning the role of the police in a democratic society: police-society relations, statehood, police discretion, the values of the Israel Police, and the police in a diverse and polarized society.

Through photographs, films, and illustrations, we will explore the uniqueness and challenges of policing in a democratic society and reinforce the sense of mission of police officers as defenders of democracy.

• Reflection on the mission of police officers during wartime and strengthening mission awareness.
• Strengthening the ethical and professional competence of police officers to deal with the challenges facing the police in a democratic society at this time.
• State police in times of war and social crisis – emphasizing the importance of statehood in police work.
• Creating peer dialogue around real dilemmas from the mission routine Processing the experience of the police officers within it.
• Strengthening the sense of mission among police officers in relation to their duties.

תחנה ראשונה – פתיחה ותצפית בהר אדר – חשיבותה של הרוח להצלחת במשימה:

הכרות עם מלחמת העצמאות דרך המושג "ניצחון הרוח" כפי שבא לידי ביטוי בהכרעה על פריצת הדרך לירושלים ובחינת משמעות מרכיב זה גם בימינו אנו. דרך שירים, דמויות וסיפורים נכיר את הרקע היסטורי על היישוב היהודי בארץ ב-48, ותמונת המצב באזור ירושלים בפרוץ מלחמת השחרור

תחנה שנייה – הקרב על הקסטל – "אחרי" – על דמות הפיקוד והמנהיגות:

• "הטוראים ייסוגו המפקדים יישארו לחפות" – באמצעות המור"ק מעורר ההשראה נפתח את הערכים העומדים מאחורי המושג "אחרי!". נברר את מקומו של "האחרי" בתפקידיהם של השוטרים.
• תחנות אתגריות "בשביל הערכים" –ערכים במשימת השוטר – באמצעות מס' תחנות אתגריות המצויות באתר נשרטט את הערכים המגולמים במשימתם היומיומית של השוטרים ונדון בחוויה ובאתגרים של בחירה בחיים של שליחות. טיול קצר ( 10 דק') לראש הגבעה.

סיכום הסיור (קיימת אפשרות לסיכום ומעמד טקסי בבית עלמין קרית ענבים): מה אנחנו מצווים ללמוד ממורשת זו של שליחות, רעות ומנהיגות למציאות חיינו כיום כשוטרים ומפקדים? כיצד אנו כמפקדים מטמיעים ערכים אלו ביחידה?
