שיעור 1:

• רקע על יהדות ורשה ערב המלחמה
• היכרות עם מצבם של יהודי ורשה תחת הכיבוש הנאצי
• העמקה בחיי הגטו ומאפייניו.
• *את השיעור מלווים דמויות של בני נוער מאותה התקופה. דרך סיפורם נבין את המציאות בתקופה ההיא.

שיעור 2:

• חשיפה לדרכי התנגדות שונות בתוך הגטו ולדמויות משפיעות מרכזיות
• היכרות עם תנועת הנוער בגטו ורשה
• סיפור מרד גטו ורשה ותפקיד הנוער בתוכו
• חיבור משמעות המרד לחיינו – על מה צריך להילחם היום?

מטרות הפעילות:

1. המשתתפים יחוו חוויה חושית ורגשית של סיפור גטו ורשה ומרד גטו ורשה כסיפור גבורה והשראה לימינו.

2. היכרות עם מציאות החיים בגטו ורשה ועם השפעות הדיכוי על חיי הקהילה והיחסים החברתיים.

3. הבנת מגוון דרכי ההתנגדות בגטו, וזיהוי התנגדות כשמירה על צלם אנוש, ערכים וערבות הדדית.

4. העמקה במושג “מרד” וחיזוק תפיסת הנוער ככוח משפיע ובעל אחריות גם בשעת משבר.

1. בחינת יכולתו של האדם לבחור בעשיית טוב, גם במציאות חברתית מורכבת שאינה מעודדת התנהגות מוסרית ואף מנוגדת אליה.
2. עיסוק במניעים ובאומץ הנדרשים לפעולה מוסרית, הכוללת סיכון עצמי ויציאה כנגד הזרם למען אדם אחר.
3. היכרות עם סיפורם של חסידי אומות העולם כהשראה לבחירה בטוב גם בימינו.

Tour objectives:

• Creating an experiential and meaningful encounter with the memory of the Holocaust.
• היכרות עם סיפורם של חללי "נצר אחרון" – ניצולי שואה שהקימו חיים חדשים בארץ, התגייסו להילחם על הקמת המדינה ונפלו בקרבות.
• הנצחת זכרן של קהילות יהודיות שנחרבו בשואה.
• חיבור בין זיכרון השואה לבין הקמת המדינה והקיום הציוני בארץ, ותרומתם של חללי “נצר אחרון” לתקומת ישראל.
• ציון המועדים הלאומיים; יום השואה, יום הזיכרון לחללי מערכות ישראל ויום העצמאות – תוך הדגשת הקשר ההיסטורי, הרגשי והערכי שבין השואה, הגבורה, הנופלים ותקומת המדינה.

Structure of the training seminar day for the leadership group:

Lesson 1: Ambassadors of Remembrance: An opening activity that deals with the role of young people in passing on the memory of the Holocaust to future generations.

Lessons 2-3: In-depth introduction to the activity kit that students will present to their class or other classes in the school. For middle school: The "Choosing Good" kit, which deals with the choices made by the Righteous Among the Nations. For high school: The "Rebellion of Hope" kit, which deals with the story of the Warsaw Ghetto and the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.

Lesson 4: Training for instruction – receiving practical tips for facilitation, building confidence in front of a group, conducting meaningful discussions, and personal preparation for teaching the lesson.

Execution phase:

On another day, each pair of students from the leadership group will deliver the training kit (selected by the school) to their class or another group at the school.

Tour stops:

• The Atlit Illegal Immigrant Camp: Here we will learn about the story of the illegal immigrants, most of whom were Holocaust survivors, and the challenges they faced on their way to Israel. We will meet the figure of Ada Sereni and learn about her work on behalf of the illegal immigration enterprise through a play performed by the students. Finally, we will connect the challenges they faced to the challenges facing Israeli society today.
• Hannah Szenes House in Kibbutz Sdot Yam: Through a video, exhibition, and study of her poems, we will learn about Hannah Szenes, the values she believed in, and the path she chose to follow in light of those values. We will ask whether these values are still relevant to our lives and what we would like to learn from her character and choices for our own lives. In addition, we will talk about female combatants from the Iron Swords War and connect their actions to the legacy of Hannah Szenes and Ada Sereni.

Tour objectives:

• An in-depth examination of the dilemmas faced by the Jewish community in Mandatory Palestine during the Holocaust, and an analysis of the courses of action taken – including the decision to join the fight against the Nazis as part of the British Army.
• Introduction to the story of illegal immigration and the challenges of immigrating to Israel; understanding the historical background of illegal immigration operations, exposure to the difficulties experienced by immigrants on their way to Israel, and examination of the ethical and personal significance of immigration then and now.
• An introduction to the inspiring figures and stories of Hannah Szenes and Ada Sereni – young women who acted with determination and courage for the values they believed in, foremost among them the Zionist idea, a sense of mission, love of the people, and the pursuit of doing good.
• Connecting society's challenges to our personal dreams and choices today, by encouraging a sense of personal responsibility and belief in our ability to influence and create change.

The tour invites visitors on a journey of discovery into the world of European communities before the Holocaust, exploring Jewish life in the Diaspora, historical processes, and the meaning of community. The tour is structured around an active methodology: it combines an introduction to the stories of several communities commemorated at the site, small group research work, and a group ceremony. Throughout the tour, questions of identity, connection, belonging, and continuity are examined, and it ends with a personal and meaningful connection to memory, reflecting on the connection between the distant past and our world today.

Tour objectives:

• Deepening our understanding of Jewish communities in Europe before the Holocaust, recognizing their spiritual and social richness and the depth of loss caused by the Holocaust.
• Commemorating the Jewish communities destroyed in the Holocaust, while understanding our role in continuing the story and preserving the historical and cultural continuity of the Jewish people.
• Dealing with the importance of memory, confronting its place in society, fighting against forgetting and denial, and the responsibility of the younger generation to preserve memory and ensure its continuity.

In this lecture, we will examine anti-Semitism as a sociological phenomenon: how it affects Jewish self-perception, our attitude toward others, and the way we understand racism, persecution, and violence. Drawing on the study of Holocaust memory, we will propose principles and pedagogical tools for humanistic education—one that does not deny the existence of anti-Semitism, but also does not become trapped by it; one that develops a backbone of values and identity that enables complex and profound dialogue.

The Passover Haggadah states, "In every generation, a person must see himself as if he had come out of Egypt." Slavery in Egypt was the ancient founding narrative of the Jewish people, and their shared identity was forged by repeatedly recounting the story of the Exodus as both a personal and national narrative. For better or worse, consciously or unconsciously, the memory of the Holocaust is the modern narrative that shapes the Jewish and Israeli identity of us all.

In this fascinating and eye-opening lecture, we will embark on a journey through different Jewish communities around the world and examine how different experiences of persecution, resistance, survival, and loss create a shared Jewish narrative. By broadening our lens, diversifying our narratives, and engaging with profound human themes, we will try to understand how we can talk about the Holocaust as a universal Jewish event that also illuminates the personal and family stories of each and every one of us.
